Most repair stories you read start after the diagnosis and end at “tested OK.” This one is worth telling from the middle, because the middle is where the honest part happened.
Visit one: the fix that didn’t hold
A Miele G 5605 SCU built-in dishwasher in Bankview, inner southwest Calgary, was stopping on an F24 error — a heater-circuit fault code on this platform. On the first visit, the failed heater relay was identified and replaced with a genuine Miele part. The unit ran clean — for about five minutes. Then F24 came back.
That attempt was documented as exactly what it was: incomplete. No warranty was claimed on it, and the file stayed open rather than being written off as “fixed” and left for the customer to rediscover.
Visit two: the missing half of the pairing
The follow-up visit answered the question the first one left open. On this Miele platform, the heater relay works in tandem with a heater pressure switch — the sensor that confirms water pressure at the heater before the relay is allowed to energize it. Replacing the relay alone had put a fresh part downstream of the component that was actually tripping the fault. The work order put it plainly: the unit needed the pressure switch installed; the previous visit only the relay was installed.

The first attempt had looked successful for several minutes — so a quick smoke test wasn’t going to be good enough this time. Cristhian ran the unit for ten minutes, then deliberately kept waiting past the window where the error had previously resurfaced. No code. Only then was the dishwasher pushed back into its cabinet run and signed off — 40 minutes on site, tested OK, with a full 3-month labour warranty now applied.
