No current reached the wire nuts from the source harness, which proved the fault sat upstream of the compressor. The conclusion: the main control board has failed on its compressor-relay circuit. It can still power the fan, but it can no longer energize the compressor.

Amin walked the homeowner through the findings and recommended the main control board be replaced first to restore power. He was direct about the one thing the diagnosis could not yet confirm: while the board is definitely faulty, the compressor cannot be fully tested until a working board is feeding it voltage. There is a small chance the compressor has an independent fault that would surface once power returns — and if it does, it becomes the next step. The homeowner understood that limitation and authorized the board replacement, prepared to evaluate the compressor afterward only if needed.
